Robin Williams was , an alien who came to Earth from the planet Ork in a large -shaped space ship, and Pam Dawber was McConnell, his human friend, roommate, and wife after they married in the final season.

The series was a spinoff of the sitcom Happy Days. The character of Mork first appeared in the season 5 episode, “My Favorite Orkan,” where he threatened to take Richie Cunningham back to Ork as an example of a human, but his plan is foiled by . He was given his own show in 1978.

Mork always reported back to at the end of each show and said “Na-Nu Na-Nu” (hello) and “Shazbot” (an Orkan swear word). He also said “kay-o” instead of okay.

When they married, Mork gave birth by emitting an egg from his belly button which hatched into a middle-aged Jonathan Winters.
