Before Ben Elton made the hit musical We Will Rock You about a band called Queen, a band called Queen made the song We Will Rock You as one of their most popular track of many great tracks.

With their ebulient frontman, Freddie Mercury, Queen really were a phenomenon for many years – bridging the 70s, 80s and early 90s.

I’m very certain, had Freddie Mercury not died of Aids in 1991, we’d still be hearing new music from the band, as well as collaborations with other massive musicians of the moment.

I still remember the Freddie Mercury tribute concert, which was one of the biggest events I had ever seen at the time, being broadcast on the BBC to an audience of millions.

Everyone loved Queen, from grandparents, through mums and dads down to young children.

Bohemian Rhapsody was one of their first hits of many, and pretty much everyone had a favourite Queen hit. Enjoy mine – Another One Bites The Dust (Gladiators anyone???) – in the video at the top!

Queen were an incredible band, much loved by all. Freddie Mercury was an outstanding talent, who is missed by millions.
