When you think of Queen, you most probably think of Bohemian Rhapsody. The longest radio played song (five minutes and fifty five seconds!!), the first pop video ever and using ground-breaking multi-layered vocals, Queen were to change pop and rock for ever and to stay at number one for nine weeks with this fantastic and crazy song. It was later featured on Wayne’s World and has become a classic movie scene.
Their enigmatic frontman, Freddie Mercury was to die a legend, in 1992, after a meteoric rise to fame and huge commercial success around the world. He only announced his AIDS status the day before he died and was post-humously awarded the BRITS “Outstanding Contribution to Music”Award.

Wrong about Bohemian Rhapsody being longest radio song – Eric Burdon’s SKY PILOT (1968) ran over 7 minutes. Had to be split in two to be sold as a “single” !
