Become an Editor
A lot of the time our writers will read posts that they feel they could add much to, and that the “comments” box is just not big enough! If this sounds like you, perhaps you should consider becoming an editor of Popular Nostalgia.
The Rules
There aren’t many rules, though there are some, to which all editors must adhere:
- Editors are only chosen from current contributors – before applying to become an editor, you must first demonstrate your writing ability by writing a number of informative and interesting posts. We’re not expecting Pulitzer Prize-winning writing! However, as editors have a high level of authorization to amend other people’s posts, we want to be sure that these changes will be an improvement!
- Editors may not remove the substance of any post – as this site is based around shared memories, any editing – other than the removal of grammatical or spelling errors – must be done by adding to, not removing, the content of any post. You can add pictures; your own memories; and any other fact and opinion you wish, however, the original poster’s efforts should be left intact.
This second rule is most important. We do not want editors to delete anything from posts, unless they feel it is inaccurate or in breach of our rules. However, as an editor, you do have the opportunity to add to and improve any item you like!
