Ordinary people and well known entertainers alike were shown through their own lives with the “big red book” – no, not heaven, but the TV series “This is Your Life”.

This Is Your Life originated on American radio with NBC from 1948 – 1952. The popular biography show hit the small screen in 1952 with presenter Ralph Edward.

The American version was hosted with Edward 1952 – 1961, 1971-72, Joseph Campanella hosted a version in 1983, specials with Edwards in the late 1980s.

Real-life people and celebrities were stung by the operation in the UK which was hosted by Eamonn Andrews from 1955 – 1964 & 1969 – 1987 and then Michael Aspel 1987 – 2003.

Australia, New Zealand and Scandinavia all had versions of the show, distributed internationally by DRG.
