SuperTed (just realised it is all one word, not two!) was one of my favourite cartoons on TV as a youngest growing up in the 1980s.

I don’t really remember why, but I do remember the slightly effeminate character Spotty (I think his full name was the Spotty man, but Super Ted just used to call him Spotty).

I seem to recall that Super Ted and Spotty slept in the same bed, too, but only in a purely platonic way.

SuperTed owed most of his success to the Spotty Man, however, as he swooped down after he had been discarded by the bear factory, sprinkled “cosmic dust” all over him, then took him away to a magic cloud, where he was spoon fed to become SuperTed by some lady, who shall remain nameless.

Enjoy a full episode of SuperTed in the video box above, for old time’s sake.

They were sworn enemies of a baddy called Texas Pete, too.

  1. I loved SuperTed growing up, and recall being taken to a SuperTed themed pantomine and also a christmas grotto!
