I heard “Hush” on Triple J the other day and it brought back a wealth of memories. (Sorry Deep Purple fans -this was my era -you’re welcome to hail the original “Hush” by sending us an e-mail or becoming a writer for this website.)
Kula Shaker were an Indian-inspired rock band with bizarre lyrics and an even stranger front man. I can still remember how my best friend re-named herself “Mrs Krispin Mills” on the notes we used to pass around in class.
I quite enjoyed most of Kula Shaker’s songs although I didn’t admit it. It was important not to sully my pure Oasis-hard-as-nails path with a upper-class hippy band singing “Govinda Jyaa Jyaaa”. But they were good. Enjoy one more time:
